Henrik Plenge Jakobsen, 2011

Henrik Plenge Jakobsen (b.1967) lives and works in Copenhagen.

Henrik Plenge Jakobsen investigates how political, economic, and social structures affect our lives. For him, art and reality do not constitute separate areas that can be connected from time to time. Art represents rather one of those realities that make up our overall reality. Plenge Jakobsen works in a post conceptual tradition using installation, sculpture and other medias as well as actions. In his work he examine the space in between text, action, and the object.

For his residency at BAC Plenge Jakobsen will work on a series of 16 mm short films and actions motivated by the Baltic Sea and its history, biology, myths, and hydrography.

Henrik Plenge Jakobsen will be at BAC during January. He has been invited to BAC as part of the Artist-in-Residence program for Nordic artists funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
