Jeuno JE Kim, 2008

Jeuno JE Kim is an artist working with video, performance, sound, and drawings. In 2003 she received an MFA from University of Illinois at Chicago, in 2001, an MA in theology from Harvard University. Originally trained as a classical pianist, her projects focus on investigating story telling and narrative structures, blending the personal with the historical/political/social contexts. Her videos are composed along the lines of voice and counter-voice, using compositional structures in Western and non-Western music, literary and filmic narratives. She has also worked collaboratively both on singular and long-term curatorial/exhibition projects (initiated the Århus Malmö Exchange Programme 2006, HOMEWORK 2007). She has conducted numerous reading groups in NY, Chicago, Århus and Malmö. Born in South Korea, she has studied and worked in UK, France, Korea, and the US. Currently she is based in Malmö.

Jeuno JE Kim has been invited to BAC as part of the Artist-in-Residence program for Nordic artists funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
